Two massive warehouses are planned near major roadways in Perry County.

MRP Industrial, a Baltimore-based company that acquires, develops and leases distribution and fulfillment centers in the northeastern part of the United States, plans to build nearly 2 million square feet of warehouse space along Amity Road in Watts Township, outside of Duncannon.

The property is bounded by Route 22/322, Route 11/15, Amity Road, and Taylor Road. The property isn't far from the Ranch House Restaurant. The warehouse complex will be known as Susquehanna Crossings.

MRP Industrial plans to build an 818,544-square-foot warehouse/distribution center with 66 docks and 97 trailer spaces and an adjacent 1,128,544-square-foot warehouse/distribution center with 94 docks and 160 trailer spaces.

The preliminary land development plan was approved by township supervisors on May 3. The final land development plan has yet to be submitted to the planning commission and would eventually have to be approved by township supervisors.

Matthew Clymer, principal with MRP Industrial, couldn't be reached for comment.

MRP Industrial is not new to central Pennsylvania. The company owns distribution centers in Carlisle, Silver Spring Township, Lower Swatara Township and East Manchester Township.

The company has also developed a 905,000-square-foot warehouse for Kellogg's in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, and a one-million-square-foot warehouse for Mattel in Union Township, Lebanon County. The company is also developing State Line Logistics, a 1.34-million-square-foot, two-building industrial park in Antrim Township, Franklin County.
