MANCHESTER — Police say they have charged an East Hartford man with slashing a co-worker with a box cutter during their shift a local warehouse Friday morning.

Joshua Brown, 25, of East Hartford, is being held on $500,000 bond after being charged with first-degree assault, according to Manchester Police Lt. Ryan Shea.

Brown was arrested after officers were called to a warehouse at 1315 Tolland Turnpike Friday morning for a report of an assault, Shea said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they discovered an altercation between two employees left a 25-year-old Bristol man with a serious laceration to the face that was likely caused by a box cutter, Shea said in a news release.

The injured employee drove himself to Hartford Hospital, Shea said. Brown was identified as the person who used the box cutter, but he fled the building, Shea said.

Brown was found and taken into custody at his home in East Hartford, Shea said.
