A Pittsburgh company has purchased a Cheektowaga truck terminal for $828,713 as part of a larger trucking company deal.

Terminal Properties of NY LLC, an affiliate of trucking company Pitt Ohio, bought 3365 Broadway St. from Teal Leasing Inc., according to documents filed Monday with the Erie County clerk's office.

Pitt Ohio last year announced its acquisition of the assets belonging to Teal's Express, a Watertown-based trucking company that operated terminals in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts before its closure last year. Teal's Cheektowaga terminal opened in the early '90s.

Pitt Ohio and Teal's Express prior to the acquisition, working together to deliver to customers outside of each company's respective service areas, according to an announcement to Pitt Ohio. Both companies specialized in less-than-truckload shipping, combining small shipments from multiple customers in each truckload.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. It included terminals in Cheektowaga, Utica, Albany and Watertown, allowing Pitt Ohio to ship directly to New York for the first time.

With the acquisition of Teal's assets, Pitt Ohio now has 25 terminals and more than 3,400 employees.

An earlier version of this story misrepresented the nature of the deal between Pitt Ohio and Teal's Express.
